LAD = load absortion damping; automatically adjusts suspension according to load. Example, if you load up you and 3 of your golf buddies and all the gear(golf bags & coolers)... your 7 will remain level and not look like the front end is pointing up to the sky as you drive down the road.

Plus there's a big difference between ATF and Pentosin fluid. If you check your power steering reservoir and the fluid is green...then it is Pentosin. Also check the pwr steering cap for either a sticker telling you to use Pentosin CHF 11S... or CHF 11S engraved into the cap. Pentosin is a hydraulic oil that can withstand higher temps.

Q

Would a 1995 740il have that? I bought the car used. That sounds like an option availavbe on newer models.

Thanks again!

Gat - UNLESS you have self-leveling rear suspension, any quality Dextron type PS fluid is OK.
If self-leveling; ONLY Pentosin is appropriate.

Is there a specific kind that is necessary to use in E38's, or will any "off the shelf" fluid do? I know what the answer will be from the stealer, but I'd like to know of experiences here. Thanks!
