In Reply to: Does your dealer provide free car wash? posted by Force98 on December 31, 2001 at 10:12:20:

each time I bring my car in for service (Global Imports, Atlanta) they claim they'll do it, but never do. This has happened twice now.

My BMW dealer here in Spokane will wash my car for free anytime I drop in. Don't take them up on it very often though, as it's a bit out of the way.

Ran my '98 through a car wash yesterday and the doors froze. They open, then the door latch doesn't engage upon closing. A couple of minutes with a hair dryer thaws things and the doors close; however, a few hours later, it's frozen again. Sprayed WD-40 on the latch, but it didn't help. Any suggestions besides don't get a wash when it's 5 degrees?

BTW, drove in snow (6 to 8 inches unplowed road) for the first time with new Pilot Alpins with no problem. Car was stable, and stopped and started with little or no slipping. Went up a large steep hill like nothing. Great car and great snow tires.

Thanks

Mike
