Thinking of getting a 1998 540i automatic or 1998 740i.
Can't deside.
Any suggestions...as far as problems, quality,parts prices.
I love both rides.


I have a 2000 740iL & my wife has a 2000 540i. The performance , comfort and handling of my 740il is better all around. My wife thinks so too. She likes the smaller size. My fuel economy is better all around also. I believe it all comes down to the transmission. I do drive my 740iL more aggressively and the tranny adapts to your driving style. Take each one for an extended test drive and you will see the difference.
