for purely aesthetic reasons the 19" or 20" setup will gain you much more visual impact than bigger tires on the 18" wheels. The 275/40 tires should fit in the rear, but it won't make anywhere near as much difference as increasing the rim size to 19" or 20" - visually.

It's time to do something different with appearance of my '99 Tit. silver 740i sport. I am thinking tires or wheels and tires. I have already installed the Snitcher lowering springs and the 18's M parallels look a little wimpy !!?? in the rear with the 255/45/18 Pilot sports. Here is the question: Do I go with 275/40/18's or do I bite the bullet and go with 19"(probably BBS or Breyton)? I am pretty sure I' ll be able to sell the factory rims at a decent price.
Has anybody tried the 275/40 approach or the 19"? Any help on this would be appreciated.
