Tom, sorry to ruffle your feathers. Speaking from a purely financial perspective, I believe the E38's will hold their value better than the E65's during their initial year(s). Same thing happened to my '87 528e. Bought that in the last year or so of production before the new 5 series came out and as I recall the new 5 had some value adjustments initially. Let's check back in about a year to look at the CPO market on the E38's. If history repeats, E38's will be a better value for the next couple of years. Also, although I've had a few BMW's in the last 20 years or so, I certainly wouldn't "migrate" just for the privledge of owning a 7.
