I have a 1996 728iA with Xenon (original) lights. They are distincly blue in color. This bluish color is exactly the same on my friends 2000 740, even if the physical shape of the headlights have changed from 1996.

Does anyone know why the 2000 740 xenon lamps are bluish in color while most aftermarket ones are whitish? Does BMW use a special type of xenon bulbs - brand?
