Gary,

I had a tough time to find a local bodyshop (L.A. area) willing to do the filling. I visited 4 bodyshops, 3 said they can't do it, and 1 said they can, but the cost will depends on how much time they have to spend. They also said won't be less than a thousand dollar just for the filling.
It just happened my dealer just sent me a coupon good for 25% off part. So, I purchase 2 new fender at $250 a piece. I also have the body shop painted the bottom skirt portion of the car(front, side and rear) I also bought the side door/sill moulding to match the color and updated style. The body shop labor cost $1300.
Body parts cost $900 (include 2 fenders).The 2 xenon headlight I bought from e-bay cost $600.
Total conversion cost $2800. Car looks 4 years newer. (I previously already upgrade the rear light to the new look!) Kind of costly, but I love my car 100% more! Good luck!

if you did, did you change the fenders or fill the gap. Me and two other guys on this board are in the planning statges and I'm trying to gather up info. We are thinking of having the gap filled at a body shop. We are bringing the car this Monday to the body shop for them to see exactly what needs to be done.

My car is gold color, and the mark is there. But it is not very noticable unless I tell you. With my front headlight upgrage, it looks a lot better.

I know it is possible to upgrade the kidney grills from the early models, but I got a concern that I have to get cleared up before I actually do the upgrade. Some of you guys mention that the old kidney grills are a little bit smaller around the outside edge than the new ones. My question is can the marks of the old kidney grill be cleaned of with wax and polish? The reason I am asking is because my car is white and I don’t want it to be noticeable. I would appreciate any comment from those of you who have done the upgrade. Thanks in advanced.
