The spring recall is done because the spring is coiled incorrectly for the spring perch and the fear is that road dirt and sand will get between the perch rubber and take the paint off the spring causing it to fail.
The suspension recall is to apply labels to deter the tow truck drivers from applying putting the tow hooks on the suspension members and bending them.
The recalls on this NHTSA web site list everything from soup to nuts.
In other words pretty useless!!
The best thing to do is ask your local dealer to print out a recall and SI list for your car model/year and month.
I have a Technical Information System(TIS) CD-ROM and it has the Service Information Bulletins(SI) for each vehicle system, as well as each vehicle by make and year/month. The SI's listed in the TIS more closely match the actual problems that may affect a particular vehicle and when one reads the actual SI the affected vehicles is explictly referenced.
I have been able to better understand the problems that affect my 74 (year/month) and it is easier to take the car in and show the service advisor the SI and say "my car needs this FIX".
