Dinan Stage 1 Suspension vs. Factory Sport Package (archive)

I went to Dinan's shops at both Mountain View and Morgan Hill, California. None of their sales reps. could articulate the spring rates of stock suspension, Dinan Stage 1 suspension, vs. BMW factory sport package. They all told me that Dinan's Stage 1 suspension will be firmer than my sport package. But they couldn't compare the three set-ups at the same time. This didn't give me too much confidence on what they were talking about.

One guy there told me that they got their shocks and struts from Bilstein. They were HD shocks but re-valved to Sport shocks specs. So Dinan gets to sell these Bilstein shocks at higher prices than elsewhere.

Anyone care to share their experiences with Dinan Stage 1 suspension will be greatly appreciated. I am thinking to upgrade my sport package to a firmer ride. But I want to get educated before I spend the $$$.
