One of my lower control arms broke on our '95 740i. I went ahead & replaced both thrust arms at the same time. Here's a picture of one of the bushings at 110k. Both looked the same. I would suggest replacing both of the complete thrust arms & bushings, as well as the sway bar links. Good luck & keep us posted.

BMW CCA Tarheel chapter


I have a 95 740il. The steering wheel shakes when I brake, however there is no shimmy at high or low speeds. Today I started to hear creaking noises comming from the front suspension. When I push down on the from of the car you can hear the noise. I just changed the brakes and rotors 6 months ago. any ideas?
