How do you remove the plastic trim piece below the (archive)

headlights? My car is a 2001 E38. I searched the archives
and found a reference to this piece on a 97 model and
they said to slide it towards the center of the car to
remove. Is this correct for the 2001 also? I just don't want
to break the piece. Thanks.
