Front end shakes as you have described can be a bitch to get rid of. As others have stated, control arms, bushings,rotors and wheel balance can all contribute to this annoyance. To fix for the long term will probably require fixing some or all of these parts. A friend of mine had this problem and changed his control arms but delayed getting his wheels re-balanced for 3 months even though he knew they needed it. Guess what....control arms had to be replaced again. Good luck and try the cheapest stuff first.
