open the little bleeder screw all the way and fill radiator cold, engine off. Keep filling untill the large air bubbles are almost gone coming out of the bleeder hole then start the car and leve the bleeder open for about 15 mins. Make sure the cap is on a couple of turns. When the bleeder is open coolent and traped air will run out. Keep the bleeder open untill all the air bubbles are gone and you see a steady stream of coolent flowing.

HI
Just make sure that you bleed it properly it is an art which can take a couple of Hrs. You run the risk of cooking the head, so perhaps you should consider to let an authorised Dealer do it.
Good Luck

My 740I just broke her radiator neck and I need to find a replacement. Any suggestions on the replacement? factory replacement or an aftermarket?

Any tips when replacinf the radiator?

Can you clarify the "art of bleeding" the cooling system. Isn't the main goal to ensure that the thermostat opens after the car warms up to properly check the coolant level? Or is it some special Bimmer thing? (I don't have a service manual yet on this car - not available).
