Go to Dinan's website, they have all the info there. Dinan authorized shops are not suppose to charge more than the labor units specified, each labor unit is 1/10 of an hour. Dinan has some website errors, to view the E38 price, select Product (on left side of web page), and then Price. Otherwise you may be taken to E39's price list. I did my Dinan in stages; my feeling is software upgrade along does very little. The Cold Air Intake adds a nice sound and a little bit of hwy performance. The 3.15 diff. helps with the acceleration. But with stiffer suspension/bigger wheel/tires the car's performance feeling finally came together. I took Big T's advise on suspension and stayed away from Dinan (cost twice as much). My local mechanic got the Bilstein/H&R done in 5 hours. I am not a DIY (that's what I get for taking 2 yrs of wood working class in high school vs. auto mechanic, sigh...) Currently thinking about Dinan High Flow Meter, Stage 4 software, and either Eiseman or Remus exhaust.
Final thought, there has been a lot of talk about ESS supercharger. The total cost is only slightly higher than my Dinan upgraded. It should offer superior return on performance. If I knew of ESS before the upgrade, I probably would have went that route. However, I am too far down the road with Dinan, so just want to make the final mod. and that would be it for this 740i.
