Since bass is pretty much non-directional, why not simbly mount Bass-link in the trunk firing through the sky-boot hole? Even if you don't have the ski-boot, that metal plate covering it is pretty easy to knock out, which is what I did. This seems like an easier solution compared to cutting into your rear deck, if I understand correctly. By the way, the bass is still powerfull, even with the rear armrest in the up position.
