I have the plug n' play unit from Bavarian Auto. If you know how to fabricate the connector pin, you can buy the Bass Link unit itself from ebay for less than $250 shipped. I didn't know and couldn't find a vendor that sells it, so went with Bavarian. It is a very powerful unit, better than the amplified Bazooka I had before. If you crank up the power, you can hear the bass without any modification, but your trunk will rattle, cool if you are 18 years old. I have been thinking about cutting out the ski boot hole, but that will mean removing the sound insulation piece in the trunk. Others that went the custom route have nice box enclosure that should shield trunk/exhaust noise. So bottom line is, keep us posted on what you decide. Sorry couldn't help more.
