In my original post I may have omitted an observation. The rear deck is not solid, it has holes across its horizontal surface, and is covered with insulation and then the interior trim (deck). To my mind the holes permit the passage of sound assuming a suitable grille is available to cover the opening in the visible rear deck. I believe an enclosure around the Infinity unit will also be necessary to block noise from the trunk (road noise) from getting past. I wanted to avoid a large sub woofer unit occupying trunk floor space if possible.
