I totally agree and I have to admit that i should have clearly stated that I personally could not hear the basslink over the stock system. Yes i did add a bass addition to the 7, but i just ended up with a standard box for a 12" sub and an xtant amp. The xtant amp can be tapped into speaker signals just by cutting the coax cable which makes it nearly as easy to install as the basslink.

I also have a Acura NSX, and it has ample bass with a 8" sub in the floor even with the targa top off. Then again the cabin of the NSX is tiny compared to the 7. The 7 has a huge interior with a lot of sound insulation, and personally, the basslink just didn't cut it, it shook the trunk more than i could hear it inside.

As you can see, preference for sound varies. I use to DJ parties for fun in my younger days, rented all sorts of monster systems. Some would complain of too much bass, some still wanted more. Today I keep a decent stereo system at home (nothing one can find in local Circuit City). Same thing all over, John likes it, Jane doesn't, and the Smith family can careless. My advice to you is, try to listen to several different systems and decided for yourself what suits you best. I can tell you for certain that compare to some of the custom mods., the Basslink is much less, but the bottom line is, how much & what kind of sub performance suits you?
