If you are lucky and have 7 series members/owners in the area with sub mods., you can listen to theirs. If not, you are out of luck and just have to go with your own analysis. I can tell you that my need for bass is there but not on the high side (standard E38's sure lack bass). As Kevin & I both mentioned, the Basslink will shake the trunk. But it does transmit the amount of volume I am satisfied with, which obviously did not for Kevin. It actually doesn't cost that much to have a custom mod. job, I was quoted $650 locally, which is only little more than Bavarian's Basslink. But that install would place a carpeted wood piece across the trunk and reduce the storage area, which is fine with me, but not with baby's stroller.
