why are we still talking about this??? (archive)

look, like it or not, bmw decided that this was the style they wanted to evolve (or, radically morph) into--face it, anything would have been considered radical, because the 7er has been largely unchanged, from an exterior point of view for the last 13 years--if you like it, as the owner of a 95e38, i would advise waiting for the 03 model, to give some time for the early bugs to be worked out--if you don't like it, there are plenty of other cars on the road to choose from--cars are a little like children, they are all unique, and special to us, and we love them unconditionally, in spite of the major changes they go through as they get older--and the problems they cause and go through--most babies don't come out looking perfect to anyone other than the designers/manufacturers("parents"), and they all have fuel problems, leaks, exhaust blowouts, etc.--the e65 is just like that--those that love it, will love it in spite of how others view it--if bmw sells enough of them to pay for the design and fabication cost, then it is a success--if not, then its detractors will claim victory--too much speculation, too much discussion--if you like it, buy it, and if not don't--the choice is yours--just remember--either way, you can discuss it on the e65 board too...

Just as charm will render the most homely person "sexy", the new 745's pizzazz will render the new 7 "beautiful" to the folks who fall in love with it's hi-tech look and feel.

I had the opportunity to see the new 7 series at a local BMW dealership this weekend and I've never seen anything UGLIER in my life. I think the car is designed by Stevie Wonder for the likes of Helen Keller!!!!! The interior was disappointing as well, the leather felt cheap, the wood was plasticky and what the hell are the temp and air con knobs doing in such a "state of the art" dream machine?????
I think BMW should provide free BLIND FOLDS to everyone who's getting a 7 series in order to avoid any heartattacks the new owner might have. I didn't know that the chief designer at Saturn was responsible for designing the new 7 as it looks just like some piece of crap that would come out of Detroit! You couldn't pay me enough to buy one, and thats coming from a loyal BMW enthusiast. Very disappointing!!!!!
