Steve, sorry for the mix up. My mistake. It is for my e32 . I dont know what I was thinking when I made the post to the E38 board. I do have a E38 and spend most of my time here.

The reason the ETK states that this part is not listed for your vehicle is because this part number is found on the cars I earlier mentioned - not an E38.
If anyone with an ETK, would change the vehicle ID (in their search) to a E32 or E34 then the part number can be identified - as well as the use of the part....I challenge one of these "experts" to try....the part number is for an engine knock sensor (gasoline quality and timing for your ECU...
