I've heard that in the absence of brushes or cloth to dislodge dirt , touchless washes use harsher detergents to break down dirt so that the water can rinse it off and also removes wax or protectant you may have used. I alway hand wash with wash and shine type car products when there's a lot of dirt but most other times I just rinse with water only and it dries off with a shine. That's just me though.

I usaully get on the freeway for about 2 minutes to remove most water and spots then use a towel in the nooks and crannies that retain water.

What are people doing to keep their cars clean?

Say I just washed my car at the coin-operated wash (brushless) and drove it home. What can I do to get the water spots off and really make it shine?

I use windex on the windows and chrome. Is there a spray to use lightly on the car itself and wipe it down? What's the best material to buff the car?

Thanks,
Gary
