Congrats! i just got a '99 and activated it. I don't see what the fuss is about these phones. Mine works fine and is fit for the purpose of using in the car. I don't have a manual, but figured out how to store names and use the voice activated stuff. The reception is clear and the transmission is fine, even using the hands free. I added it to my Verizon account for 20 bucks a month. Why spend all that money and effort to upgrade? I say go for it. If it doesn't work out for you, then consider an upgrade.
