Someone recently said a service mgr put a length of cord in a seam of the gasket and the noise stopped. Can't find that message and there was never a response to my question as to exactly where and how the cord was put in. Also would be good to know if noise is still gone after several weeks?? My '01 740il still has LOUD noise above 60mph after gasket replacement and many dealer "adjustments". Now the service mgr is deaf! Looking for new dealer in TN.
