Hi it's me John,
I posted the messgage about the service amanger how modified my sunroof gasket by insterting a piece of cord into the gasket. The noise iw not gone but significantly reduced from before, so I must agree that this trick works. It has been several months and the noise has not increased yet. I had this done my Steven Creek BMW in San Jose CA.

I am guessing that the cord makes the gasket less pliable and increases the sealing action when closed.
