I think they will repaint it. Call BMWNA if they don't. Raise hell if you have to, but I doubt you will.

My BMW dealer did an outstanding job on a hard-to-repair door post and quarter panel crunch on my former 735. It was nearly new when a guy hit me. You really couldn't tell it had ever been damaged. I had it about five more years and it was just becoming noticeable that the repair spot wasn't quite up to the original finish.

Anyway, I think they can fix the hood just fine. Its not like its one spot on the side that will be hard to match. Don't let them send it out. Just tell them you expect them to put their best man on it. Ask who he is. Go see him in the shop, tell him you've heard he's their best man. His pride will be on the line. Don't be bashful. Squeaking wheel gets painted.

Does anyone have any experience with this? My 98 750 is showing signs of bad paint on the hood (even though it is garaged most of the time) and the car is still under factory warranty. I think the dealer should re-paint it under warranty, but don't know if this is unheard of or not. Any experiences out there with this?
