Most likely you have the Genie with the rolling code technology. If so you can not program the universal transmitter to open that. I have heard some of the newer BMWs can but I have the 97 and I cant. You can by a seperate controller for the door from the company that makes the universal transmitter for about 65 bucks. All it does is recieve the signal from the transmitter and send a seperate electrical pulse to the opener. I havent found one cheaper yet. Call the 800 number in the owners manual or check the website I believe its homelink.com that makes them. Hope this helps.
Hey!

Has anyone been able to program the universal transmitter for a Genie Garage opener? Thanks!
