AT&T uses TDMA nationwide so this CDMA phone won't work. AT&T is upgrading to GSM over the next year or so. Carriers that use CDMA include SprintPCS, Qwest, Verizon and Alltel to name the big ones. I'm a telecom consultant when I'm not driving my Bimmer :-)

I recently purchased a 2001 740iL (production date was 3/2000) that came with the CPT-7000 Motorola Star-tac (CDMA - Part # 84110016715) cell phone. I need the TDMA CPT-7000 (compatible with Cingular service) and am looking for someone that wants to exchange or has one for sale.


What systems are your phone compatible with? I need AT&T. I do not have one for sale, but will take that one off your hand is it is AT&T compatible and your price beats the dealer.
