Even without Baby, it was well worth the trip. I truly enjoyed the opportunity to meet everyone. There are faces to place with the names that I see here and the varieties of the "Magnificent 7" that were there, was very cool indeed. As Scott has observed in his post below, the different wheel packages made for distinct cars, yet each car had the E38 aura. As a group, when E38s roll together on the highway, it is a sight unlike any other. We need more of this.
Meeting the people was just as rewarding. T, of course I had met last year in Annapolis, but meeting Calypso and his son, Mike D (Don King incognito), Scott, Jeff Cherry (still love those rims :-), Neal, Big H, and Joe was a very big part of the trip. In my opinion, a fabulous group of people, and I am proud to be in their midst.
I came away with the knowledge of who some of us are and I am thankful for the opportunity to see some of the things all of us have discussed here on this board like the audio and video modifications the guys have made. After the One Lap, Baby & I have some serious catching up to do. T has offered to undertake the design & install of an audio system for Baby at a future date.
Speaking of Baby, she is the one regret for me this weekend. Having shared a ride with T and hearing the audio system he has, and also riding with Mark (Calypso) and experiencing the V12 and the K40 radar unit, I am very sorry Baby wasn't ready in time because I wanted to share her with the group as well.
Definately a great meet, and hopefully it can be a nucleus of bigger & better things yet to come.
Regards to All
Simeon
PS: I'll get to work on the pictures and see about getting them burned onto a CD.
PPS: T, you're a lucky fellow indeed. Andrea is definately a "PRINCESS".
