2001 740iL Sport, same problem, only 13,500 miles (archive)

I only have 13,500 miles on mine and the ttread on the outside 2" is almost worn away. I check tire pressure every week. For the first 8,000 miles I ran the lower recommended pressure. Since then I've been running 2 lbs above the higher recommended pressure. I'm getting my replacement Michelin Pilot Sport tires installed this week. Dealer checked alignment and claimed within spec. I will ask the tire shop for their recommendation of best alignment shop. Tire wear looks like too much toe, but the handling is spot on. The dealer claims all 7 series wear like that. I look at every one I see, and most have more wear on the outside 2". I thought I read on this board that lower the ride height with new springs changed the alignment slightly and helped on the tire wear. Anyone else read that?...joe
