1) This is not typical and does not sound like a simple fix. My guess is that there is a spring that engages the seat-adjustment sprocket that is worn, or could be a bolt missing in the seat, but can't understand why dealer can't fix this. If the dealer can't find anything wrong, it probably isn't a missing bolt. You may have to drive around with the service manager and show him. ??
2) Sounds like the phone cord connector (where it connects to the phone) is loose. My phone also does this.
3) Hmm. I normally brake to a stop while in reverse before putting the car in drive. Not sure if I want to test this on mine. Sorry.

1999 740iL, (1)the drivers front seat moves intermittently (typically the seat back moves which is startling when driving). (2) the phone intermittently will not auto power on on car start. (3) when reversing at slow speed then shifting into drive, the transmission seems to half grab and slip all others I have driven grab solid... any pointers would be helpful, I have had it to bmw service 3 times with no luck just frustration...
