i don't corner particularly hard either and i've checked my alignment numerous times. this is just an inherent problem in our cars.. As I undestand, there are really only 3 potential solutions..

1. Flip each of the front tires inside out periodically so as to distribute the uneven wear between the inside and outside edges of the tire (any tire shop will do this for relatively cheap)

2. This is questionable.. but perhaps purchase a camber adjustment kit and adjust negative camber.. I've seen one in the Bavauto catalog and i'm considering that but i don't know if it'll work or fit.. becuase i've been told that no negative camber adjustments may be made to our vehicles w/o the aid of some other components.

3. Adjust tire pressure (run at slightly higher pressure).. but i haven't seen any noticeable difference in doing so.

My wife drives the car 98% of time, and most of that is with our two small children on-board. We live in SW Oklahoma and most of the roads are flat/straight - almost no twisty, winding roads around here to have fun on...

Overall, I would say very little aggressive, hard cornering type driving performed with this car. Maybe that is the problem - the tires are not getting a complete work out and the set-up is for a more aggressive driving style.

Maybe that's the line I'll use:

"Dear,I HAVE to drive the 740iL MUCH MORE often to EXERCISE THE TIRES so they wear correctly!"
