The engine will last 200-k plus but like any expensive luxury auto unless you do most repairs your self they are expensive. If you don't work on the car yourself and plan on keeping it you should find a ex-BMW guy who opened his own independant shop who specializes in BMW's. You would get BMW expertise and a much cheaper labor rate than the dealer.


I have a 98 740 with 94k on it. I have the extended warranty till 100K. Car has always had all the scheduled maintenence, but with the extended warranty almost up I am looking at getting rid of it....Who has experience with a 98 above 100k? I drive all highway miles, so I expect that the car will last.....but I wanted others feedback.
Also, what should I expect on trade towards a new 745..My car has the nav, the phone and high miles....
