Choose a staggered setup for cosmetic reasons, nothing else. FOr street use there's no meaningful difference that should affect your decision. On a race car it's a whole different issue, because minute details will affect handling characteristics.

Are there any adverse effects? Ride,comfort,stability. You guys who participate in this forum are very knowledgable and I would like to hear your advice on this question before I invest in a set of 18 in. composite-bolted wheels for my 95 740iL.
