I feel your pain, both for being without the magnificent 7, and for dealing with incompetence beyond comprehension. It's beyond me how dealers like that stay in business.

I haven't been on this board for the last 3 months as my '98 740i got T-boned in Chicago back in mid January by a guy who ran a red light and I've been in mourning. The two passenger doors were totaled and slight damage was done to front and rear fenders. The car was drivable and I drove it back to W Michigan and brought it to Sharpe BMW in Grand Rapids.

Sharpe kept the car for 2 months and when I went to pick it up there were (among other things) screws and rubber plugs missing, doors not aligned, rocker panel still bent, door wouldn't open from inside, paint blemishes and A NEW DENT AND SCRATCH on my trunk lid!

Came back 2 weeks later and...rubber plugs still missing, doors still unaligned, still a paint blemish on door and now...BROKEN PLASTIC AROUND DRIVERS SIDE SEAT AND A NEW DENT ON MY HOOD!!! Apparently someone had closed the hood with a tool sitting on the engine!

One week later car was supposed to be "perfect". There were: paint blobs on the hood, doors STILL not aligned, overspray on my sunroof etc, etc...

I took the car and contacted Allstate and got a supplemental claim opened up to take the car to another shop of my choosing to fix these problems.

Bottom line is i've been without my car for 3 months and I'll probably be without for another few weeks. Thank God I never got that concealed handgun license and thanks to all on this board for letting me vent. I feel slightly better already.
