I had a similar experience with my E32 which got rear ended. The collision shop level of quality in general is geared toward the average driver, not toward us E38 fanatics. I drove these guys and myself crazy trying to get my car back to what I know was it's original condition. It took several visits for repainting, and in the end, I settled with a low quality job just to be done with it.

My advice is to get them to rent you another car at their cost and make them do the job right or you'll regret it later on.
