When the 735i was totaled, I knew that I wanted another 7. I tried various 7's and decided that I HAD to have a 750iL. I bought an '88 750iL.
When I wanted a newer model, I already KNEW that I needed another 750iL. This search was narrowed down only by the year. I ended up with a '98 750iL, upgraded to 2001 look, with only 19K miles.
I still have both 750's and they are have been very good to me.
In response to questions about more upgrades available for 740's. The factory stock 750 has gobs of horsepower and torque and has more power than I'll ever need driving on American roads. It also has all of the features that are optional on the 740.
The only downside is that repairs can be expensive.
