Never hear of this one but the fuel pump is under the rear seat, so it is not likely it would be easily heard from outside and under the car. If you have the self leveling rear suspension option the pressure pump could be leaking or you are hearing it trying to level the car from outside?

The fuel tank could have a pressure lock due to a faulty cap which would cause air to suck into the tank from the filler neck which is on the rear right side. Check this area next time you hear it The Check Engine light should come on if this was the case. Do you have that indicator? Other than these ideas, I can't imagine what it is.
