What part of the country are you in?
In my opinion, based upon whats available here in Southeast PA, 56k seems high and in conflict with what dealers are selling comaprable, previously owned vehicles, WITH the 100k CPO program.
What is a similar car fetching at the dealers in your area?
To my way of thinking, trying to get the same $$ a dealer would get is wasting your time. I cannot think of a reason why I would do a "private deal" for a car when I can do the same deal with the dealer and have the benefit of the CPO program.
I expect that there has to be enough of a savings in the transaction, for someone to be willing to do an "as is" deal, (in this case one with the balance of the initial factory warranty) for them to be willing to forgoe the benefit of dealer support.
This is especially true if the buyer has read about the erzatz radiators, missing pixels, etc.
2 cents? worth
I would appreciate it if someone could give me their opinion on this car that I am selling. I am NOT trying to spam the boards, I really need an honest opinion.
I have a 2001 BMW 740iL listed on ebay, roadfly, and Yahoo auto's, and I want to know what the fair value price would be to sell it. After researching on Kelly Blue Book and Edmunds.com, I came up with a figure=$56,000.00.
Considering the supply of these BMW out there right now I think the price is fair, yet I would really appreciate anyone's input on the matter.
