My directional lights stay lit though when you accidentally leave the left or right blinker on when you turn the ignition off and lock the car.

I've also had a glitch or two in the system that didn't remedy itself until I restarted the car. Make sure though that your turn signal isn't on...

How weird, I had the exact same problem yesterday too. Exactly the same,l and could not figure it out... I will watch for answers...

I used the remote to unlock my 740is two nights ago and the directional lights started blinking. They kept on blinking for about 5 minutes, I couldn't figure out how to turn them off, they went off by themselves eventually. I checked the car for damage since I figured someone must have bumped into it but there isn't any damage on it. Any ideas?

p.s.
This is the second time this has happened.
