My Cat was change on my 96 740iL but now I need to have my check engine light turned off. Is there any wat to turn it off without taking it to the shop

It has been my experience that the "Check Engine" light comes on most of the time when the O2 sensor(s) needs to be replaced. If you replace it (them)yourself (very easy) the light will go out on it's own. The cats are behind the sensor & have nothing to do with them.

Good luck
