Fair market price for a '97 (archive)

I may be faced with a sad dilemna -- parting with my '97 740i to get something with more seating capacity. Two children in the same school, carpooling, etc. and my four, sometime five passenger 740i is fast becoming a luxury item we may part with.

It's mint (really, not a ding, nick or scratch), DSP, cold weather package, 54k miles. CPO warranty is good through June 2003. It's been dealer maintained since I purchased it October 1999. All the ornery things have been done (stepper motors, radiator, emergency brake cable grommet, A/C drain upgrade).

So, if it's gotta go, what's a fair price to ask/expect?
