I’m trying to find information and the whereabouts of a ‘72 2002 silver Aplina that originally resided in the San Diego area. It had flared fenders and Scheel seats and fairly wide 13” wheels and tires. My friends father owned it and he was very active with BMW’s and car clubs in the San Diego area and when he passed away they had a memorial running event in his honor to raise money for medical research. It was a fairly notable 2002 and had a multi page magazine article done on it in the late ‘80’s or early ‘90’s? My friend’s mom regrettable had to sell the ’02 and I the last time I heard anything about it I thought it may still be in the San Diego area or may have moved North to the Bay area in the late ‘90’s If I knew how to post a photo I would but haven’t figured it out yet.
I ran into my old friend last week in Providence, RI and she remembered how I showed her the magazine article of her father’s car and at that time it brought her to tears. I knew it was her father’s ’02 because she knew I was into ‘02’s (still have two currently) and she told me her father’s car was so hard to get in and out of because of these overly wide bolstered seats it had. LOL.
So thanks in advance for any info on tracking it down, I hope someone knows something about its current whereabouts.
