| Message: | Hi Bill; Here is the skinney on the BMW 502: These are great road cars and almost all parts are available. Most are pretty reasonabley priced except for engine main bearings which are getting scarce. The big problem with these cars is rust in the frame. Many cars were dumped over here in the 'seventies when they couldn't pass safety inspections in their home countrys. Rust in the frame repairs are doable, but are not for the faint of heart. Frame kits and patch panels are available in Europe and there is a small supply of parts cars in the US. Most are rusty. Club member, Terry Sayther, is running a BMW 502 in the "Mexican Road Race" this October (2007). You can check the race out at: La Carrera Panamericana If all goes well, I will be his co-driver!!
