if you will send me the VIN of the 501A I can tell you which parts are the correct for the 501A. There are a lot of differences in many parts between the 501 the 501/6 and the 501A and B. After the war BMW had problems produce parts for assembling cars, because the factory was destroyed by bombs so they changed a lot of parts within a short time. Are you sure your car is still original? If you need a watch, which colours does your instruments have. The color of the instruments (red, blue, green and grey) was depending upon the colour of the car.
You see it is not so easy to restore a 501A in the real original condition. If you need help, please contact me by mail a.wohlmann@aon.at and send photos of the parts so maybe I can help you to find the correct parts.
