Swapping parts between '81 and '82 shouldn't be a problem. The '81 probably just has some extra connectors floating around in there right? BMW changed a few things around trying to get it to idle better I think.

Do you have a picture of this AC resistor? I can look in my parts car which is already largely torn apart and see if I spot anything similar.
