86' 535i. Cold starts very rough idle with raw gas (30 views) (62 thread views) 
Message: 86' 535i. Cold starts very rough idle with raw gas smell.

At cold start I get an extremely rough idle for about 30 to 45 seconds with a raw gas smell. No leaks in the lines anywhere.

My thoughts are:

1. a leaky injector.
2. a faulty temperature sensor.

Would a faulty temp sensor cause the raw gas smell? Smell is most prominent at the passenger side front corner.

Car idols fine when warm.

Any other suggestions.
