advice please : windshield replacement (368 views) (1370 thread views)

1984 BMW 533i Japan. This car is a keeper. As far as I know, this would be the first time the windshield would be replaced.

A rock was thrown at the windshield while I was reversing the car out of a parking space. The impact point was the lower left section of the windshield.

For an experienced glass shop, is E28 windshield replacement difficult, easy, or somewhere in between ?

Are there options to a factory windshield ? If yes, anything to be aware of ?

I'm guessing that replacing the gasket at the same time would be a good idea ?

Any other tips or advice ?
