to a seller (I'm looking to buy a E38) and she told me BMW of N. Amer. just replaced pixel displays on her 1998 740 (56Kmi) and a second e38 she ownes. The cost was 78 dollars to install, parts were free. That was about $500@ freeBe. This is for anyone with similiar issues.
