| Message: | | When first starting to accelerate, there is a vibration coming from underneath the car in what seems to be the engine compartment or location where the transmission connects to the driveline. You can feel this vibration, and hear it a bit as well. It seems to occur when the RPM is between 1100 and 1500, until the car is moving over 50 MPH. Additionally, when the car is simply cruising at 40 or so MPH, and when you press just enough on the accelerator to the point where the car is accelerating, but before it shifts into a higher gear to make you accelerate faster, the vibration is present and more pronounced. When moving 50 MPH or faster, there is no vibration felt or heard. In fact, when driving on the freeway, acceleration and such is smooth and normal. There are no error codes or issues with the Transmission or Engine, the transmission is shifting very smoothly despite the vibration. I viewed other posts in this regard, and they seem to lean towards a tire issue. This is definitely not a tire issue and that has been ruled out.
The vehicle is a 2001 740il with 110,000 miles on it.
What would the first things you check be, or if you have run into a similar issue, how did you solve it? Center Bearing? U-Joint? Transmission or Engine Mounts? Guibo Discs? I appreciate your reply.
